A weird thing happens to me with dt 5.2: if I process an image and then I remove it, reimporting addes many module actions to the history, often resulting in big changes.
I’m adding to sidecar files, one before removing, the other after reimporting

Why?
Did you check, if you habe some presets that are auto applied?
how do I check?
You may have set some with matching criteria and those would only show up for certain images, say for a lens or camera body etc but if you go to duplicates and you create a duplicate selecting original as the option and you have extra modules then this would quickly show that you have some generic auto presets… and if its only for certain ones you might have included some criteria
This is a basic set…I have agx but it would likely be sigmoid or filmic and also see I have an auto applied module in the inactive state…that should not normally be there…I just put one in for demo…
This would be one quick test…
