How do I create additional top level albums?

According to screenshots in the documentation this is possible, but I’ll be darned if I can figure how to do this. I have created one album I think, which shows on the left hand browser under Albums. This corresponds to a folder on my C: drive. I now want to add another separate album (I think) which will point to a folder on my NAS. However, whichever method I use to create a new album (Album / New, or Import / Add folders) seems to want to create a new album (folder) under my existing top level album. Which is a folder!

Bit confused here, is what I want to do even possible?

It might help if you tell us which program you are using…

Sorry, thought this was a product specific forum! I’m using digikam.

Ok, so what you want is an extra collection. Those are defined in the settings dialog (“Settings” → “Configure digikam” → “Collections”).
A collection is basically a directory in a file system, with albums being subdirectories under that directory. So all albums in a collection have the same root.

As you want to have a collection on a NAS, you will want to add the collection as a network share (the third option in “Settings” → “Configure digikam” → “Collections”). Best look at the digikam manual for the differences between the different types of collections.

Thanks @rvietor, just what was required.
