There are no favorites anymore, you can manage.modules and tabs by clicking the hamburger menu and selecting “manage groups”.
It’s just original favorites tab. All modules, tabs (and so favorites one) could be managed in new module manager (click on menu tab in the right of the tabs (icon with 3 horizontal lines). I suggest you (as for each release) to read release notes AND article of the release in darktable.org blog.
It’s there because you had it before switching to 3.4. if you start with a clean config it’s gone. darktable usually doesn’t ditch existing stuff
