So I can confirm with the setting change in the module manager I think you should be getting what you want…
I just did a screen grab and loaded it into DT. Made up a history stack with extra instances and some reordering and inactive instances as you need.

I clicked on the create style from history stack button and was sure to include all the modules that I needed and saved the style
