How to delete all tags?

Hi,

does anybody know a way of deleting all the tags in darktable? I would like to start afresh before importing a tag database from lightroom.

If.you’re comfortable with SQL, you can delete them directly out of the database.

If you don’t have too many, just delete them one by one from the GUI.

If you don’t have a lot of presets, you can remove the whole data.db file.

Going on three years later – Is this still the same?

I have 70+ user-defined tags (flat, no hierarchy). I’d like to delete them all and start again… ??

@lphilpot - there is a lua script “tagging addon” that includes a “remove all tags” button - presumably all tags for the selected images, but I haven’t experimented with it. Your mileage may vary.
