How to install darktable 3.0 RC2 in Linux Mint 19.2

Hi All,
I’m a long term windows user. I try to transfer to linux OS.
But I don’t understand how to install dt 3.0 RC2.
I download “darktable-3.0.0.rc2.tar” from GitHUB and extract it.
Then I stuck…
What should I do next step?
Sorry for my very…rookie’s question…

I try to goolge the answer, look like I need to use cmake?
But…look like it is not easy.
I missing some steps?

You’ve download the source code. You need to compile it if you want an application you can run. That can be intimidating.

If you don’t want to build it, you can use the repo by @darix at Install package graphics:darktable:master / darktable
