I am trying to make a part of my image “warmer”. In Capture One I would set white balance for a layer. But it seems in darktable white balance is only global and I can’t apply it with a mask. Is there a way to achieve this in darktable?
The color balance module with a mask will do it. Or color zones with a mask.

With dt 3.4 there is another option when using the new scene referred workflow. There you could use also the color calibration module for that. Just open a second instance of that module and use it with a mask.
You can use color calibration with both workflows (scene and display referred). It’s the ‘modern’ version of chromatic adaptation that involves the color calibration module. But for warming a part of the image, I’d also go with @paperdigits’s recommendation.
