I want to stack some hundreds of raw images and it is killing my computer. What should I do to stack a certain part of my images, or crop them before stacking? DSS can make it though…
You can stack some percents of your best images in the stacking tab.
You can perform a sequence crop too. By drawing a selection and right clic.
Hi, I’m curious what you mean by ‘it is killing my computer’, can you explain a little? Siril has resources limits, maybe they are not correctly set.
My computer has been used for 10 yrs and has only 4GB RAM. Although it won’t crash, it takes days to stack. And I don’t want to spend that much time.
You probably have a rotating disk, this is a limiting factor and it will wear out even faster when processing images in parallel. You should limit the number of threads to 1 with the entry in the top of the window.
Also, make sure you exit all other programs when starting a processing and don’t restart them before the end, to maximize free memory.
You can exclude some images of sequences if you already know that some shouldn’t be included, using the list of images available in the sequence tab when clicking on ‘open frame list’.
Thank you! I didn’t know I can crop all images in the right-click menu before you told me

There are few tutorials in Chinese and I don’t understand English quite well
