How to tell Digikam I want raw files opened with Darktable?

Thanks for your recommendation. I gave it a try and still can’t seem to get darktable flatpak recognized as a RAW processor. I’m going to keep working with this immutable distro for a while, but so far I can’t get some things working that may make we switch to something less bleeding edge.

Just to elaborate, here are the issues I haven’t been able to overcome:

  • Rapid Photo Downloader crashes on launch. No flatpak available, or AppImage. I’ve tried running it in both Ubuntu and Fedora Rawhide containers to no avail.
  • Darktable AppImage lens recognition broken for at least one of my cameras that has been around for 7 or so years, but it works in Flatpak.
  • DIgiKam Flatpak and AppImage don’t recognize Darktable as a RAW processor
  • The DigiKam AppImage has a tiny mouse pointer, and the taskbar icon is missing (blank icon). The theming would need to be tweaked a bit too- app icons are barely visible.

So far, this immutable system doesn’t seem quite ready to offer much benefit over say a stock fedora install. I’m glad I’ve done this testing, and happier that I’ve kept my main workstation on a more conservative distro.
