How to use parametric masking

Would someone mind directing me to a post/wiki/url that explains how to use the parametric mask option in ART?
I’ve seen many post make a reference to it but none that explains how they actually use it.
A video explaining each of the tabs/sliders would be very helpful.
I really enjoy using all the masking tools but the parametric option remains ignored

Did you check ART documentation (Local Editing Tab)?

https://art.pixls.us/Reference

Its quite simple …you have 3 parameters Hue Chroma and lightness… You can define a curve to restrict each one to the desired property in the image that you want masked say yellow flowers or a red car etc… then your adjustment will be applied based on this mask…you can use any one or all the channels in combination to define the mask…

Thank you. This is a great start

Thanks for your response. It makes more sense now.
All the other masks I find are easy to understand but I have always had a blind spot for parametric.

Why would you choose parametric over colour similar mask? Both are using colour as limitations for masking

I use DT quite a bit more than ART so I am not as familiar with the masking tools. They do seem similar…perhaps with the curve you can control what would be the feathering more easily or with more control than with the range and decay sliders in the color similarity mask…its a good question

One I can see is for example to select by only luminance you would do the parametric mask… the channels can be combined or be used to target things individually whereas the ones in the CS mask seem to have to work in concert…so simply moving the luminance slider there doesn’t really seem to do much until you have a color selected…

EDIT
Ah I see one slider is the value and one is the weight…they are not working together as the upper and lower range boundries in the CS mask… so you control the selection a bit differently…
