I can't make lens correction auto-apply

Hi all,

I am trying to have a preset for lens correction auto-apply to images from that camera and lens, but I am not succeeding: when I import new files, the correction is not applied automatically. I checked the manual and followed the procedure (see attached picture). Any suggestion? Thanks in advance!

PS: this is happening in dt 4.2.1 as well in 4.2.0 (Mac Os X 12.6.3)

Ok, found the solution myself: I needed to check the additional format option “color”.

This is not obvious and I pointed that. darktable 4.4 will make it clearer by putting those on 2 columns and linked them.

I have never used this auto-apply pre-set feature before. I just read the manual and if I understand it correctly when an image from the specified camera etc is opened then this will be applied with no input from me. Is my understanding correct and is the only advantage that I don’t have to do the single click to activate the lens correction module? Or am I missing something here? Thanks.

Correct. It is very useful when you import a large number of files from the same camera/lens.

Also very useful if you know you will (have to) apply a particular module for all images you import from e.g. a particular camera (“raw black & white point” comes to mind, or your favourite demosaic algorithm). At least with such a preset you won’t forget to apply the module…

I have an auto-applied lens correction on preset, and that works well with both my Nikon and the Lumix LX7. That is, it applies the corrections for the right camera + lens.
