RT and GIMP
2nd version of this nice scene.
Further cropped and a bit more emphasis on the road leading into the forest. Done with a slight darkening at the bottom and a masked col.bal.rgb with bit brilliance, vibrance, saturation and warmer color.

GIMP 2.10.38.
A great photo to play with. Adjustments to mid-range contrast and brightness. Boosted the colours. Done on my tiny laptop I use when travelling, so no idea what it will look like in the real world!
A different edit, also trying to get an orange glow effect.
Edit: leaves at the front stuck out too much.

The greatest problem I have with this picture is the compositional aspect that the natural line of sight along the road toward the distance is so strongly contradicted by that very pronounced shadow of a trunk across in the brightest field.
I did a hasty removal of this shadow (by a not very good combination of retouch and masked exposure that have created some artifacts etc, but to do this with a very delicate result was beyond available time) – but the point ought anyhow to come through. Then just some crop and simple brightness reduction in shadows plus a graduated exposure instance in upper right corner.
