installing Natron on windows 10

hello

i am actually beginning a video private projet with gimp, natron and openshot.
the fact is natron doesn’t want to open a .mov movie file. i haven’t the same problem on manjaro linux but perhaps have i to install ffmpeg on windows ? perhaps natron doesn’t want to import mov files ?

i go try with mp4 files but time was short on wednesday evening so then i didn’t had the time to try some solutions and that’s why i’m asking you today about.

thanx a lot for any help

in linux your have libquicktime2 or quicktime-utils?

If this does not work:

ffmpeg -i video.mov video.mkv

hello bazza and thanx a lot :slightly_smiling_face:

the fact is it works perfectly on my linux but the computer to be used and on which the problem is, is a windows 10 one. On linux it works perfectly but in windows i have the problem " not possible to read the frames ".

thanx a lot yet

regards

install ffmpeg in window and try with mkv
format is compatible MKV is similar MOV (A container)
ffmpeg has to convert very fast and without loss

Send an archive to test. I no use MOV does years.

hello bazza and thanx a lot for your kindly answer

the fact is i have 1 week to composite all without actually the vidéo sources.
the fact is i haven’t any (apart after effects bases) natron compositing bases.

so i will continue with blender 3d as putting video sources on planes and moving planes to make the video: it is a firm movie with tools of the firm, plenty of text messages and 1:30 mn of vidéo to make

but be sure i will come back soon to begin natron compositing !

please accept my apologies and have a good day.
