Interior design photo wall software?

Is there any open-source software that allows you to digitally place artwork or photographs on a photo of a wall in a house or business, to plan photo layouts? Two paid programs for this are Canvy and ArtPlacer.

You could use fSpy for perspective matching and then blender for placing the photographs. While the learning curve may be a bit steeper than with the applications you mentioned, it should still be simple enough with two or three tutorial videos.

Thanks, I’ll try that.

This tutorial should give you the information you need:

As your scene is probably much simpler than what is shown there, you might even skip half of the steps from the tutorial.

Thanks for this Chris. At the moment I just need a 2D wall layout program, but Fspy and Blender certainly look interesting for future reference.

Ideally I can find a simple program that will be good for customers to quickly experiment with different layouts on their walls so they know what size of prints to order. Some of the paid programs do this quite well, while also playing around with different frames and matts.

I’m pretty sure there is no dedicated FLOSS application for doing exactly what you require. For placing 2D on 2D, if perspective correction is not required, I would take inkscape, you could add frames etc. dynamically based on filters or extensions, but it would require coding. If you need something more dedicated, you most probably have to implement it yourself, pay somebody to implement it or fall back on the proprietary solutions.

In this case Sweet home 3d is considerable. Maybe.
Below is a video explaining. it allows you to modify the image of some frames. How to replace the picture of a frame - YouTube
