Irritating 'No Disk' pop-up in the GIMP

Recently, I get this when I click on File>Open:

V 2.8 but experimental 2.9 does it too.

Any ideas or shall I just re-install them?

Thanks for lookiing!

Ted

When a similar message was happening in rawtherapee, the fix was to disable the floppy drive in your EFI/BIOS.

A similar error in RawTherapee could be solved with this patch:

What’s your gimp version?
This bug should have been fixed lone ago:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=170948
@heckflosse Gimp uses gtk2 and not gtk3

I think the best open a new bugreport.

Thanks for the tip but my last programming activity was in M68000 assembler on a “Fat” Macintosh in the 80’s.

Messing with a PC for me is fraught with danger, sadly.

Thanks too, but I am no longer a programmer of any kind unfortunately.

Because V2.8 and V2.9 do it, simplying re-loading probably won’t fix it, IMHO, so if anyone has specific instructions i.e. command window line-by-line for a Win 7 Pro, Core i5, Dell I would be most grateful.
