Is there really a way to make best use of display space in 'File Browser'?

I do love this program really! Use it everyday for adjust my RAW and JPG. The editing and tool so powerful still much yet to learn more. However…

When it come to File Browser. Not to mention sorting option, which is not adjustable. Mostly I find image by searching menu on top left. :sob: I browse image place and name from Digikam then go to folder and search in Raw Therapee. :sob:  Anyway I can live with that.

The pain is how to best use of display space to view image in File Browser? It use a lot of space available just for 1 image. The picture I attach tell the story. So much space waste. If I use laptop 12" display it so useless to browse image from her. Even through external display 24" still a lot of space is waste. Even I reduce thumbnail size to very small already until hard to see the image now.

Is there a way? Or suggestion, improvement ticket for this? I think it will be much useful than this compare to the browser of Digikam. Anyway I love this program for the potential. I can live with this pain anyway. :sob:

Thank you very much.

My work flow is to use Digikam for catalog and manage location then use Raw therapee for RAW then save back to Digikam place folder. And Gimp for more detail retouch in some imang.

You can configure digiKam to open RawTherapee as an external editor.

Nice! Any chance that fix will come on next release on windows version? Would love to see how it is. And hope sometime sorting will be more options. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

That fix is already present in the nightly builds, so yes, it will be available in the next release as well.

Nice! Thank. Wait for the release.
