Raw file is what it is. They are big. But if we are going to play raw, then raw is what we must play with. 
Jpeg we can and should adjust for purpose. Even my 1920-longest are, perhaps, a bit on the big side, although well under 1Mb. But thanks for making me thing about it: I changed my (dt-default?) 96% quality to 90% in my “Playraw” export preset. It has halved the file size.
