Issue with the latest tutorial on comet processing

I am having an issue at Siril - Working with Comets stage - it ignores my reference image and entire output sequence is not color fixed, even the reference image becomes green again! Am I doing something wrong? Siril 1.0.0-rc2
Let me know if more information is required!

Hi Alex,

The obvious reason I can think of is that the global registration has changed the reference image and it needs to be set again, as indicated in the section right above the one you linked to (2nd paragraph).
When you load you registered sequence (r_pp_light), does it open straight away on the color-balanced ref image? If not, just reopen the frame selector, select the good ref and tick the ref image box at the top.
If you could check that and revert. If it does not work, I will indeed need more info on how you proceed.

Cheers

Yep, it does open right to the color-corrected reference image, this is why it baffled me and stopped from continuing further :frowning: Let me know what is needed of me to debug this issue!

Could you send me the r_pp_light_.seq then?
I’ll try to figure it out from there.

Here you go, thanks!

My bad, in fact…While writing the tutorial, we fixed smthg in the code which is why it’s working in the tutorial and not with 1.0.0-rc2. I’ll add a note in the text for until we next release. Sorry about that…

So for the time-being, you can load r_pp30_light_00001, plate-solve to get the color balance.
Then you can reload the sequence and run the export. It will be used as the reference for color normalisation (hence the fix). It won’t affect the registration reference as it has already been performed. Please replace your current .seq with the one attached here, I’ve tweaked it a bit to force recomputing the stats from the first image. Otherwise, it would keep the old balance.

Let me know if it works for you,

C.

Can I just grab the latest AppImage and be good with it? I don’t mind running bleeding edge version

No problem with that option of course!

Aaaaand it worked just fine, thank you so much for a wonderful tutorial!
