The help text of the Liquify Modul runs over a few lines so each time you want to select a point the picture gets resized to give these lines the space they need. This makes it quite hard to click the point you want to select because with the new size the cursor is now diferntly located.
Just gave this a try and could initially not reproduce this.
Turns out that the German version of darktable creates 4 lines and pushes the window down. I also see this with Polish (creates 3 lines). French, Dutch and English only create 2 lines (I did not check all languages) and are OK.
