I want to change from Ubuntu 24.04 to 26.04 and to a newer darktable version too probably.
How can I find out all my own created presets?
I don’t want to copy the older folder to the new installation.
Not sure if ~/.config/darktable/ is compatible.
Now I use darktable 5.6.0-1.1+117.1
Upgrades are usually fine. Presets are in data.db. Make a backup of the cited config folder and go for it :-)!

Not sure what you mean. I don’t know which presets I have defined.
pressing export will export every custom preset for every module
So I still don*t know whcih default values I have changed. I need this to recommed my settings to another person who don’t want to use all my settings.
I tried it and used the whole ~/.config/darktable/ on another pc of myself. The database gets confused.
I hope I am understanding your problem correctly. In the screenshot I have gone to preferences and expanded the presets. Then I have expanded the presets for my color zones module. So I then selected an individual one hoping to export just that single preset, but when I exported every preset I had created for every module was selected. So I had to go to the export location and select a single preset I wanted to share. As proof of concept I share the preset called R7 default and attach it here.
Can’t they just hove in the history of one of the edits that they like to see what sliders/settings you changed??
Many of my presets are obtained from playraws and I just save the settings as a preset when I have opened/applied the xmp file from someone else.
Well there are indirect solutions. It looks like a list is not possible, as I thought.
Actually I do not know myself, when I configured presets. Some modules I use very rarely. I will find a way to help my family using dt.
I still think it you just share a few edits with them using your workflow they can hover in the history and see what you have changed…

Oh, but that’s not your original question (getting a list of your own presets).
Keep in mind that for darktable, any preset you add is one of yours. It only sees
that a preset is not one of the pre-installed ones, it has no way of knowing if you
created it, or just copied it from a playraw, or from any other source.
