Looking for palettes!

Just wondering if anyone has a palette pack called “Mineral Gimp Palettes” by Deadened Glow?
I downloaded a zip of these great palettes from DeviantArt a while ago but have since lost them…
Tried to find them on DeviantArt but the uploader’s page seems to be deactivated.
Hoping someone on here can maybe find it and post it (or link to it) on here. The zipped folder name was: “mineral_gimp_palettes_by_deadened_glow.zip”

Thanks!!

This might help.

Thanks but your link is regarding gradients, however I’m looking for a specific set of palettes!
Keep up the good work!

Oops, I mixed up another thread that I read online.

I would search for soil charts and mineral info; e.g.,

No probs.
Well I started downloading a mass of images from internet archive with wget, unfortunately the GeoDIL set of images (1000’s) I’ve grabbed so far seem to be lacking lustre - for want of a better word, so not sure they would be accurate representations, might convert a few of them though. Good idea about the soil charts etc, will look into it, thanks!

Lustre is the perfect word. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good soil charts and references are prohibitively expensive. If you could get the colour codes, you are almost there, almost because minerals can’t be represented by pure digital colour alone.

Got it… well approximations are good enough!! :upside_down_face:

The Mineral Colors in the Mineralogy Database here looks pretty thorough, for anyone interested…

Now, you have to translate the textual info into visual info.

More Gimp palettes are here.

Thanks! Very useful.
