Mathematically right values in decomposing to LAB ?

It is playing time up here in Sweden: I picked up one Nadorcott and my Colormunki Photo spectrophotometer. Using Argyll’s spotread , I measured five more or less random spots on the Nadorcott (handheld) and here is what the Colormunki reported:

I did hundreds measurements of colors with the portative colorimeter BYK. I got values close to
40 ; 0 ; 15 for Lab* with D65. (those peels were green since I am comparing different stages of maturity)

I was thinking of making a comparison between those and the values I will get by analyzing images (more likely the scans since I did not manage to have light even enough to take photos) but it makes me think of what @Elle said earlier:

I’m guessing that science and technology publications expect LAB/LCh values that are relative to D65.

Also some of the software you are using is ICC profile color managed, and some is not. You can’t just measure LAB values relative to D50 (ICC profile color-managed colors) and expect they will match the same LAB values measured relative to D65. A spreadsheet can be used to chromatically adapt back and forth. But keeping the white point straight is a very important thing to do.

The values I got with the BYK colorimeter are with white point D65, but the values I will get with digital images will be related to white point D50. Hum…!
