Max size of left / right panel (4.0.1) is too small

Hi guys, I just upgraded from 3.8.1 to 4.0.1 (Fedora KDE 37) and I cant extend the right/left panel more than a relatively small size. In 3.8.1, this was not so limiting. Any idea how I can resize the panels much more ? I tried to edit darktablerc and play with darkroom/ui/0/left_size (e.g. set to 800), but it appears it has no effect.

I have a 4K monitor with scaling = 200%. Max size of left and right panel is much too small.

I’m pretty sure this restriction will be removed in darktable 4.2.0 (released next month) - see this PR. I don’t think there’s currently a workaround for darktable 4.0.1.

Must be the 4K monitor though… There is a limit but I can drag mine out much further that what is shown in the screen shot…

I am running the latest weekly build of 4.1 which represents what we expect to see in 4.2.0 and can confirm that this restriction has been removed. I am also using a 4K monitor.
