Meta Data GUI under Linux - A short bash script integrating with geeqie

Hi all,

I was looking for an efficient way to add meta tags to my photographs but did not find any open source GUI. So I did a quick bash hack which integrates with geeqie.

Wrote it all up so you can reuse it if needed. Link to the script and installation instructions.

I hope you like it. Any improvements are welcome :slight_smile:

Of course I sat there and wrote a new tooic and everything to link your post, and apparently didn’t bother to check if you did it yourself first… :smiley: thanks for this!

I’ve been thinking of doing this so that I can add metadata from geeqie to filename.ext.xmp (geeqie currently only supports filename.xmp). Thanks for the write up!

For integrating an open source GUI into a bash script try yad or kaptain.
