Milky Way - GIMP

I got the following jpegs after stacking a few exposures in Siril. I’m new to GIMP and photo editing in general. I’ve attached my attempt at editing and I’d like to see what you guys can do and learn from that. In the spirit of that, I’d really appreciate if you list what you did.


This is the stacked output from Siril (never mind the blurry foreground, I had a second image with a sharp foreground that I masked on)


Edited. I just adjusted the levels and some contrast and brightness.

@lep What I meant is: Where is the raw file to play with in this Play Raw?

@heckflosse I used Siril which outputs FITS files, so I don’t think I can exactly get you RAW files, but I did upload the TIFF files to the OP.

So, even if its not a play raw :wink:
