Mouse behavior in Darktable

Hi all …
i am having an " issue " with my mouse in DT ( dev build from M.Straeten ) .
Every when I touch a slider ( in any module ) … move the slider left or right to make adjustments all works fine . Once I release the slider and hover over another slider in that module … the slider moves with me clicking the left or right mouse button ?! Even if I move out of the module and zoom in or out in the image … and then return to that module the sliders do move without me clicking . All doe happen just when I do hover over a slider .
Any idea why that is ?

Mac Studio M1 ; Sequioa OS and Magic mouse …

Any idea or help would be very much appreciated .
THX a big bunch in advance

Cheers Andreas

It’s been happening to me as well from time to time, with the trackpad. Sliders keep moving even if the pointer is away and the button is not pressed.

I would open an issue and reference it here.

THX Masterpiga … for your reply , will do that what you suggested .

Cheers Andreas

Well I went over to Github and tried to do something over there …
Sadly I have no idea what and where to do something …
I simply do not understand the whole procedure .
So I hope it will be gone … with the proper release of 5.4 …

Ok, I reported it:

You may want to add yourself to the bug with your github account to be notified if there is any update.

This did not happen to me since I started building from source at HEAD, so either it’s been fixed in the meantime or it’s an artifact of the prebuilt binary.

I also have this problem. Mac with M4, not local build but a pre-realised version (5.3.0+726~g6e1d696873) dowloaded from GH. now i updated it to the current one and i will see if it will happen again

Thank you so much for doing this for me …!!!

Glad to hear I am not the only one !!!

My pleasure

This bug is stealing the show in Nicholas’ (@nwinspeare) latest video (it starts at 13m 03s):

[Totally off topic, but thank you Nicholas for you excellent videos. I really like your calm, curious and contemplative attitude to photo editing. Keep’em coming :)]

Yes the mouse is definitely stealing the show …sadly … quite annoying .
Still there … in the latest macOS dev build .

Good news … thx going out to @dterrahe to solve this issue .
Sadly I can´t follow the instructions … I have no clue what /how and where to change something .
Is there somebody out there … who can guide me through the process ?!
Sorry for my ongoing dumbness … if it is coming to the internal " coding " stuff , I can just wang sliders around .

Cheers Andreas

You shouldn’t do anything, other than building from master or waiting for a binary for your platform that incorporates the fix.

THX for the info … I´ll keep patient
