Moving to square one - the best way for a clean 3.0

I have just tinkered a little with darktable v. 2.6.2 on my Linux Mint PC before now installing v. 3.0.
But there are then some folders where images have xmp-files, and there was a dt-database that has been upgraded - and I understand some of this may be used on a “legacy” basis

However, I don’t want to retain anything of the old stuff and want to start new all afresh in “3.0 mode”. Except for deleting all xmp-files, what should I do to achieve this?

The quick-and-dirty way is just to rename (or delete) your config directory after you upgrade ($HOME/.config/darktable) - darktable should automatically create a new one when you open it for the first time. Then delete all your xmp files before re-importing.

Remove your preferences file, library and data database. Or just remove ~/.config/darktable.

Thanks!
(And thereby I also learned where the database is stored. Good to know for back-up purposes).
