Newbie seeking strategy guidance

I have not done any real video editing, however I did do some computer animation when a Silicon Graphics Indigo was considered fast - and I am a computer programmer. So my learning curve is all specific to these tools and the terminology. Thanks so much for any leads you can point me to.

So what I want to do is make a mock-up of a typical contemporary news room chat show. I want to have several transitions mainly of talking heads in boxes. I will be taking my own footage of my own news desk, and I want to be able to composite the talking heads into their boxes, and also to run tickers and such at the bottom, as well as adding my own infographic pop-ins.

Thanks again for any resources you can lead me to to teach myself how to go about this.

I used an Indigo too, that was in 1992!

You can find lots of online learning resources for Natron. Search on YouTube or in this forum: https://discuss.pixls.us/search?q=tutorials%20category%3A27

There’s also the official doc of course (https://natron.readthedocs.io).

Also, most Nuke tutorials work (except for advanced 3D stuff, which has to be done using Blender)
