noise reduction fail

i just started rt today. much of it is incomprehensible to me. one particular enigma. i had a noisy cr2 raw image. went to noise reduction. i viewed at 1:1.
i tried a bunch of settings including moving all sliders to the max. i detected no change at all

the same thing happened with chrominance reduction on a different cr2 file i tried.

any illumination would be appreciated.
thank you

this from a canon 30d which is an old model. maybe not completely supprted?

Can you post the raw file?

if you can point me to directions for doing so id be glad to. thank you
in an hour or so.

When you say you “went to noise reduction” and slid the sliders, did you also make sure the Noise Reduction section was enabled?
