@Sunhillow Thank you for the welcome and taking time to play with the image. I like the blue!

@gigaturbo I really like the light in the highlights you were able to achieve!

@lylejk Do you have a Lucis (or G’mic) plugin for GIMP that you use, or do you handcraft the effect

@Dito_Budi I like seeing the texture of the sand and the detail in the foam line along the sand.

Thank you both for the edits!

A few years back, when the owners of lucis were all but liquidating their company, they were offering lucis for a swan’s song so I accepted that offer. No regrets. A lot of what lucis can do can be done with a blend of a few G’MIC presets, but lucis does what id does very cleanly, so take out the program every so often (because I can). Mainly use it when I’m lazy. lolol

I believe another company now owns lucis so not sure what it costs now. Glad I was where I was when I got the offer is all I have to say.

@lylejk If I remember, the standalone was fairly pricey, so good for you for finding a bargain!

@dqpcoxeas Ok, I had never seen the alien in the cliff, now I can’t unsee it…thanks! Nice cropping…I rarely pick out the vertical elements in landscape scenes before I snap a shot, so it’s nice to see this portrait view.

@Odum It’s always nice to see someone using the same version of dt as I use, and in B&W.

@mipopa I had never thought of that crop…it brings a whole new interpretation to the scene, thank you!

Indeed; at one times it was going to cost you a few $hundred bucks. Rediculous. I believe that was the reason lucis had to sell off since no one was buying their software. Definitely a niche program, but it does things that’s very unique and not easy to replicate.

@ EmerS, Just saw this
No,unless I use RT to change it from a Raw into a jpg first then transfer to gimp.
Too lazy lately so I just used your jpg.

What a beautiful picture! Thanks for sharing!

I like the pastel tints in it. Then thought what happens when I go into overdrive and mix with b&w. This led me to this version. Sort of moonlit dreamy mood. Hope you like it.

@Jetze That camera and lens combo does create very pastel-like images. Thank you for the moody edit!

@iblazhko I like that you’ve given the new focus to the scene. Thank you for taking the time to share an edit.
