Only main screen apperas on start up

I recently installed 3.0.6-1 on my Windows 11 Home and would like to start using for certain edits along with darktable. I have seen a few videos showing how to use this program, but when I open the program I just have a blank grey screen, no tools etc. If I am able to open a tool like tool box or brushes, when I go to open anything else they disappear and never stay on the screen like I have seen in videos. I would like to set up to my main screen with certain items that I want to use or change location of where those tools would go on my screen,but cannot.

Can anyone help or tell me whar I can go to get help on how to set up and save tools so that when I opne up teh program they are still in place?

I’m not sure but some installed files may be broken. Once uninstall GIMP and delete setting files under C:¥Users¥%USERNAME%¥AppData¥GIMP, and reinstall GIMP.

Setting files directories are…
C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\GIMP
C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\GIMP

Hit the Tab key to make the dialogs show up or hide.
