Open Darktable to the last edited photo by default

When I’m editing photos in Lightroom and I close it before editing all the photos, when I open it again, it opens by default, on the last photo I edited; in Darktable this doesn’t happen, it opens the lighttable showing all the photos. Is there a possibility to change the behavior so that it works like Lightroom, opening the last edited photo by default?

Hi all, I agree, I think that would great if dt opened the lighttable selecting the last photo that was selected, even if not edited. So you would not need to fetch it in, sometimes, a quite a bunch of photos.

I’m pretty sure the last photo is what is selected in LT view so if you just hit the d key you are all set…but not exactly what you are asking for

You’re right @priort the last selected/edited photo (if any) is selected in the lighttable when you open dt and pressing d, without moving the mouse over any thumbnail, opens it in the darkroom.

What I’d expect is not only the last edited photo to be selected, but for the lighttable to scroll over it.

Now, your reminder @priort should satisfy @clfoto, I’d say. Provided you don’t forget not to move the mouse when dt is up.

Yes, you’re dead sure! I opened Darktable now, pressed “D” and it opened in the last photo I had selected previously. Thank you very much for this tip!

Yes, you are right, @priort solved my problem. Thank you all!

I learnt something new today that will help as a work my way through a folder containing hundreds of images. Thanks once again @priort for helpful tips here.
