ORF to FITS conversion bag?

It was only after 4 hours of integration that I noticed that my photo was broken because the .orf files (OM System OM-1 Mark I camera) were converting incorrectly to fits format. A strange regural pattern appears on the photos.

See screenshots in the following magnifications.

The problem does not exist when the intermediate step is to convert .orf > .tiff > .fits. I can’t tell if the orf files themselves are corrupted in some way. I assume that since the tiffs generate the correct fits files - they are not. But there is an other problem - why calibration frames are in color?

The error affects both Siril and online available converters and files created by indiserver+libraw+Ekos (in the latest versions).

Are there any settings to avoid this error, rather than forcing me to waste the time and disk space needed to convert via tiff?

This pattern is normal. This is the Bayer pattern.m of the CFA image.
You should take a look at the documentation.
The pattern should disappear after demosaicing which is done after calibration.
But again, everything is explained in the doc.

I’ve followed this tutorial. And this pattern was kept in images till the end :frowning: as I recall - I can’t check it now. But in r_pp_ it was present (almost) for sure. I will check what does OSC scripts will do.

Can you be so kind and point me to the documentation part about this?

And the question on a side: why tiffs produce color calibration frames? What should I do to avoid that? I could not find anything about this subject on documentation and web. Maybe I am searching in a wrong direction.

You probably forgot to check the de debayer button.

The tiff are already demosaiced. You should not use TIFF in the calibration process. Never

Thank. you!
