Output profiles

Good morning,

playing with different output profiles, I am puzzled by two things:

  1. Although the colours in the output image differ vastly for various output profiles, the preview does not change. So as stated in RawPedia I am feeling “like flying in the dark”.

  2. Consistent colours (with the original) are obtained only with sRGB as the output profile. Large_g10 or Lagre_BT709 give completely wrong colours. Why is that?

Having read the page on output profiles in RawPedia does not really help me understanding these two points.

Any enlightening hints are very welcome. I attach a screenshot showing (from left) Large_g10, Large_gBT709, sRGB versions on my EIZO CS240 screen. The input image is a slide scan as 24bit JPG in Adobe RGB (1998) colour space. Same problem occurs if I use the 48bit TIF version as input.

Mea culpa – problem solved!

I had used IrfanView without colour management activated to view the results.

Loading the images into PhotoShopElements displays the images okay. Same for IrfanView with colour management activated.

How can I delete a post?
