The question may seem a bit strange or simple, so don’t knock it right away. I can’t find an answer in dt. Maybe someone can help me out: is there a graphical overview of the distribution of tonal value ranges from 100% (black) to 0% (white) for black and white converted photos?
You mean like the histogram?
yes, just like that
Is the histogram not sufficient?
The histogram has a bunch of other modes that can be used to view the distribution across the image: see the fine manual

seems to be simple. But isn’t the histogram just for rgb colors?
Try working with the waveform… Its very useful and shows you information across your image not just binned like the histogram
A black&white image is still an RGB image, with R = G = B at all times.
