Used dehaze (G’MIC) to equalize the scene and pushed colors to my taste. Also enhanced the sharpness using Local Variance Normalization (G’MIC). ![]()

Here’s my attempt. Have kept processing at a minimal. Focus was more on color harmony and sharpening

A simple edit trying to draw attention to the pigeon proudly strutting along.

Your M50 has the same sensor as my M6, so my white balance module ‘camera reference’ coefficients are the same. Although an EF-S mount lens on it? Does it need an adapter?
Anyway, fast pigeon. I think I handled the highlights well with the DorS inpaint highlights preset (with some adjustment), but then I went and did something wacky with the tone curve.
Are those starlings in the background, too?
I had never noticed this preset before. I just tried it on the image. Top image is without the preset and bottom image is with the preset. I certainly didn’t have any success with this preset? I wonder if others have every used this preset to advantage. You did say you adjusted the preset so it may just be because I applied it as is that I got poor results.
Really, it’s not that useful imo. I’ve barely tried it. The preset is set so that it affects things above display 100% to begin with; most overblown highlights are already handled well by Highlight Reconstruction and other things.
I used it for the sky between the buildings in the background, but the preset affected the tree branches in that area as well.
Yeah, I have an adapter, I don’t actually have any m mount lenses.
OK; only because tomorrow’s Easter. Now I have to get ready for work (but had to work Tuesday so chose it as swap, so I get tomorrow off). lol

they were up on a ledge and i was below, so they were eye level
Noticed the common starlings on the backgound, but didn’t figured out how to bring them out, so I tried something different.
Really cool photo. I went for more of a movie-like framing and put emphasis on the bird most in focus. I also reduced distracting colors with color equalizer, and the color look up table module.
