Tried Googling this, but no luck. GIMP sometimes puts blotches of bright pink in my photos. Seems mostly in areas of medium or dark blue. Changing GIMP’s color management does not help. Have you tried the 2.10 beta 1 version of gimp?
Please upload the original image. For me it looks like some kind of gamut warning.
