darktable and a bit of GIMP for burning out the face. Q. Can one do some local dodgin/burning in darktable?

Edit: I did this by tone curve, but one could also use local masks with the exposure module, what would correspond more to real dodging & burning.

Had lots of fun with this one. As I couldn’t top any of the excellent entries above, I decided to transform the photo IMG_0626.cr2. It looks like a bog now.
