I am so glad you have enjoyed working on my photos from my day at Old Tucson Studios in 2009. Thank you so much! Here is one more that I think has potential. I used darktable 2.6.2 and I think it could still be vastly improved but I tried to open up the light around the smoke. There is a time spoiler in this shot, too.

here as a base I used a profile created by @stefan.chirila: Yashica1950 which makes it look like an old Westen Movie 
And again, with a little help from my friend GIMP Two and a half spoilers were removed (at least partially)
another try: added mor structure to the smoke close to the actor

Great rendition and I really like how the blue wall behind the actor’s legs shifted to a teal.
