Play Tiff - Again this unknown castle

Ok guys, I have my new camera. It is not yet supported by darktable - at least not officially. Thanx to @kmilos I can in the meantime edit uncompressed RAWs. But this picture was made before I knew that. So this one was taken in a compressed RAW format and afterwards converted to Tiff with the Sony Software.

I found it quite hard to get the Tiff the way I wanted. It reacts very differently to a RAW.

Looks like Neuschwanstein Castle.

If it looks like Neuschwanstein and is not situated in Disneyland, it probably is Neuschwanstein. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Being a tiff file I felt handcuffed. But here us my interpretation using AgX on a non-raw file.

Ok, what I learned so far, everybody is better then I am, when it comes to editing TIFFs.

What about converting to dng instead of Tiff using adobe dng converter or dnglab?

I tried it with Adobe DNG converter. The RAWs were not supported.
On the supported cameras list from dnglab the A7V is as well missing.

oh! I did not realized it was the new sony.

I talked about it on another thread. My mistake to not write it here. Sorry!

After seeing all your great edits, I gave it another try. Still not completely satisfied, I think it’s much better than my first throw.

Thank for this Play!
For sure the most underrated castle of Schwangau :grimacing:

Thank you, I already do, even though coming from a Canon APS-C, it’s a huge readjustment.

Well, taking it seriously I would advice people indeed to visit Neuschwanstein first, just to have a step up when you visiting Hohenschwangau. This has less to do with the interior (where i couldn’t say which I like more), than with the manner it is presented. From the outside we don’t have to discuss about it, Neuschwanstein is for sure iconic but the way you get pushed through it is horrible. I remember when I was a teenager they showed you more rooms and there was a proper guide. Unfortunately nowadays it’s more like:

How can we push as many tourists through the castle as possible with a least amount of personal to maximize the profit.

I must admit that I have never seen Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau from the inside, even though I don’t live that far away. Somehow, I have always been put off by the idea of being rushed through the castle with a huge crowd of people.
These are two of the many things I want to see now that I retired almost a year ago.
