This one is from Duisburg in germany. The tower is a part of the ‘Walsum power plant’, which is a coal-fired power station producing 1200 megawatts power.

Since there were two big’s in the title, tried to give a majestic look using Gimp 2.1010 with RT5.6 !!

Nice shot @pphoto!
I also opted for a dramatic B&W version, using PhotoFlow:
I was trying for something more ominous for some reason.
gimp filter: map > panorama projection
I don’t know if this is a sensible approach. Maybe it’s too much? I turned on shadows & highlights, turned on the haze removal module and reduced the strength a little bit, and then did the usual filmic 11EV curve with 100% saturation. I increased the saturation of blues even further with the color zones module in order to make the sky pop a little more.
Haze removal, shadows & highlights, tone curve, sharpening via equalizer, vignetting, grain.
The second one is more interesting.
