I try to get the best out of this snapshot. The objective is to get a nice portrait of the old lady.
Has anyboday an idea how to restore the highlights with the help of #RawTherapee.
As attached you´ll find my first attempt with RT.

Hi, you didn’t attach a raw file, but just to show how I would do it, how about something like this? (I know I should do a better job with the masking, sorry about that…)
Hi. Thanks for help. Unfortunatly I do not have a raw. It#s just a smartphone snapshot.
Then there’s very little you can do to restore the highlights I’m afraid – that’s why I decided to use a different approcah, i.e. I tried to mitigate the background distractions

If you can’t recover highlights due to missing information, all that’s left is to paint in the area. The same in the man’s hand. And adding what Alberto has told you, it can be an acceptable result.

erm “Play Raw” group? 
There’s no background in your post. Does the so called “old lady” (she doesn’t seem too old to me, btw) know that you posted a photo of her on the internet? What do you want to achieve posting a private photo of these two persons? Shouldn’t we respect the privacy of other people? Please help us in the try to understand your post because surely they are some friends of yours (or relatives) and you got from them the permission to post this photo online. I don’t doubt this, but you forgot to provide the context for this photo and the reason why you’re asking us to improve it. Don’t take it bad, I know that in certain circumstances you are in a hurry to get the possible best photo of a person you care about, but probably the internet is a sensitive ground.
And technically, if you choose the category “Play Raw” for your post you are supposed to supply a RAW file (as somebody else already emphasized).
I think there was mention of highlights but it wasn’t very specific…and most of the highlights are in the background and not on the people. Maybe the lady’s neck and the gentleman’s hand??
