Preprocessing Failed on Mac

27" 2017 imac 24gb RAM 462GB free disk space

I have used Siril with an external drive and my laptop . Now I am trying on my more powerful desktop. But, the pre=processing fails because of insufficient disk space. I have given Siril full disk access and I have 462 GB of space on my hard drive.

Thanks

On macOs there is a particular status for memory. I don’t remember the name but you need to free it.

Cleanup your purgeable memory

I followed the directions to purge my drive. Now SiriL shows less available memory. Before I purge it, I had 26GB, now it says that I have 18GB of disk space, but I actually have 482.

I ran the pre-processing script after purging my data, it generated a new error:

In your working directory you only have 18GiB apparently.
The disk space is computed only for working directory.

For some reason SiriL now sees 270.6 GiB available. Any tips on keeping the working directory free (of getting SiriL to see that it is free or getting my Mac to keep it free)? I am confused. Thank you for you help!

I ran the script again. It got further but it still failed. Here is the log. It says it doesn’t have enough memory but Siril still shows over 250GiB available. Thank!!!

In Siril preference let the default memory management.
Ratio 0.9

@Franck,
I had the same issue, more than 500GB of disk space available but Siril script aborting because of not enough disk space.
I fixed it by accident going to Preference > Performance, selected fixed memory management and went back to default .9 ratio.
It works fine since then.
Hope this helps.

Had same issue tonight. Watched my available memory drop and drop. Got rid of stuff, no help at all. Memory available kept dropping.

Then, suddenly, it started climbing. I suspect there is a lag in it’s ability to check.
