DK 8.2 and newer versions automatically set green color marks in images after setting stars. How
can i switch this off? I have all marking options in the image quality sorter switched off if this matters.
This is on Manjaro Linux with nativ DK and app images. DK 8.1 does not show this behavior.
I observed that as well. However, in my case the colour varies depending on the number of stars. It doesn’t happen always, thought. So far I couldn’t make out a pattern when it happens.
Thanks a lot. I now disabled Iptc.Application2.Urgency but unfortunately still have this on some photos. I now noticed that it is not only caused by rating but any metadata change (at least title or caption) results in the colour label being added. Interestingly, it doesn’t happen on all photos, just on some. I have to see if I can find an affected photo that is shareable (i.e. not showing a person).
On a side note (might be related): I noticed that lately I often get a string of several whitespace characters followed by two Chinese characters appearing in the caption out of nowhere. I just now observed it appearing after adding a face tag but I’m not using face tags a lot, so there have to be other causes as well.
I’ll keep observing it so hopefully I can provide more useful information.
Ah, never mind. I compared xmp files and saw that in the affected photo, there was an “photoshop:Urgency” entry which was missing in the other one. After removing that, the colour label doesn’t appear anymore. So it seems writing some metadata also triggers syncing back other metadata from the file to digikam?
This still doesn’t explain the “Chinese characters in caption” issue but I have to wait for that to happen again to investigate further (earlier I was bit too fast with just directly removing those broken captions).
