Print film simulation in Darktable

I’ve ported the Juan Melara’s lut to Darktable workflow

Before the haldclut is necessary to use the unbreak input profile module with fixed parameter, the working profile must be “linear rec709”

The usage is very easy:

  1. It helps activate the exposure module with exposure=+0.95 EV
  2. working profile=linear REC709 RGB
  3. Unbreak input profile (after the input profile) with the follow parameters

  1. lut 3D with application color space=linear rec709

Thank you for doing this!

Hi,

I tried to apply this workflow but the resulting image turns out extremely washed out. I can remedy this a bit by introducing in the pixelpipe a tone mapper like Agx, but I think it is still quite far from what it should be. Is there something I am missing?

thanks!

Is the color space in the 3d lut module set to “linear rec709”?

like age says - lots like you haven’t set out to rec 709

It was set to “linear rec709”:

The working profile is linear rec709 too? Try to lower the exposure in the exposure module

Are you using Melara’s LUTs rather than @age’s converted ones? The filename indicates that.

Good call! Indeed, I had downloaded the original LUTs… thank you very much!
