Hello,
I am writing to you about an issue I am encountering with Darktable version 5.2.1 installed on Mac OS 26.0.1 (Tahoe). The problem is located in the Print Module.
Here is the anomaly I observe: When I print an image centered in the Darktable print area and select the desired orientation (Landscape), the image prints in portrait format and appears shifted and off-center, so that a part of the image goes outside the print zone and therefore does not print.
I suspect a conflict with the Epson printer driver or perhaps an incompatibility with MAC OS 26. After reading various questions on this subject on the forum, including Fenny’s problem from September 18, 2025 (‘printing issues with portrait/landscape’), it seems that the problem might originate from cups-filters?
Hence my question: Is my version of macOS 26.0.1 using a version of cups-filters that might have introduced a new behavior or a new regression (perhaps even a version based on the 2.0.0 code), and that the Darktable solution (not specifying the orientation) no longer works correctly with the new Epson driver? I specify that DarkTable, via the EPSON_ET_8550_series driver (version 4), forces me to select either Portrait or Landscape orientation.
Environment:
27-inch iMac from 2020
MAC OS 26.0.1
Epson ET-8550
printer Driver: EPSON_ET_8550_series (version 4)
Is there a solution to this problem?
Patrick
