Printing target for profile creation

Hi,
sometimes I return to think about gamma…
This time is occurred when I’m tempting to make a new profile for my printer… I explain…
I use Argyll to make a target but I have some doubts :

After I created the target with targen+printtarg and I have TIFF file
What is the correct setting if I want to print with GIMP and not to change TIFF values?

When GIMP load the TIFF file which has RGB values without profile assigned I know it thinks as the file has the sRGB profile and applies the sRGB profiles (TRC and color management).
In this way the TIFF values of printtarg file are changed in RAM, aren’t they? And they are what are sent to printer.

Any hints?

Cheers

reading more I seem to understand if GIMP assigns a profile it doesn’t change RGB values. Therefore I can send to print with the assurance TIFF RGB values are not changed.
Is it OK??
Cheers
