Private Firefox

Firefox received an update in mobile. Latest feature I enjoy is I can use private browsing by default. Trouble is that you have to find the option to add the icon to the desktop first.

Now for the annoyances

1 Forgotten settings. Thankfully, the bookmarks are still intact and addons sort of are (had to re-enable for private browsing). But a lot of things need re-configuration including making it the default browser.

2 Different UI. Most apparent is that the search menu bar is at the bottom. Going through all of the notices and settings is required.

3 Both Firefoxes appear to load pages differently. The pages populate visually only after everything loads, so I get a blank page for a while. On busy or load heavy ones, this can be annoying.

I think I like the search bar at the bottom. I’ll try it for a few weeks, but in principle it makes more sense to me. You can put it back at the top again in settings if you want.

I like the enhanced tracking protection.

A search menu on top balances the chin of my phone.
