Problems installing RawTherapee_dev_5.8-2334

I got:

RawTherapee_dev_5.8-2334-gdd7fd08f9_20200711.exe

and

RawTherapee_dev_5.8-2334-gdd7fd08f9_20200711_win64.zip

from:

But Windows 10 won’t run the EXE file and gives me the following message:

Clipboard02

And if I try the ZIP version which I prefer, I get this error:

Clipboard01

Any ideas?

Thank you. It was reported already by two others, see here I'm unable to run Rawtherapee developer versions in Windows any more... and here RT windows 5.8-2330: Libssp-0.dll library is missing · Issue #5841 · Beep6581/RawTherapee · GitHub

Kindly wait for a fix.

@Thanatomanic,
Thanks for letting me know.

@dngimage the problem should be fixed in the latest dev packages. Could you please check them and confirm?

Thanks!

@Carmelo_DrRaw,

RawTherapee_dev_5.8-2339-g8af287aa8_20200712_win64.zip works fine now.
Thanks for fixing it.

But RawTherapee_dev_5.8-2339-g8af287aa8_20200712.exe still has the same problem. Windows 10 Defender won’t allow it to install.

Hello @dngimage

Just tested RawTherapee_dev_5.8-2339-g8af287aa8_20200712.exe
on Windows 10 (64 bit) and it runs fine on my Pc.

The message you got is because RawTherapee is “unsigned”, which means there is not a digital “certifcate” to prove it is a valid application and not a virus of some sorts.
The lack of this certificate, which is not free and it is expensive to buy, cause this problem on many open source software on Windows 10.

In short, with RawTherapee, it suffices to ignores the warning and go on with the installation…
At least, this is what I usually do and I never ran into problems later on :slight_smile:
Needless to say, you must be 100% sure to download the open source software from trusted source (that is, usually the web-page)!

@Silvio_Grosso,

Thanks for the tip.

As I indicated in the original posting, I prefer the ZIP option so it doesn’t affect me as much. I only tried the EXE option after the ZIP one wasn’t working and I tested it as @Carmelo_DrRaw requested.
