I have the following problem and unfortunately don’t know whether it’s due to my installation or whether my scenario is even supported.
I installed my computer to LM 22.1 in the middle of the year and gradually installed everything. Now I have discovered that my camera lens configuration (OM-1 II + 12-100 mm, for example) is not supported in Darktable, as it does not appear to be included in the lensfun database. The lens is recognized, but the camera is not. I suspected that the lensfun database was not up to date, so I downloaded the latest database and imported it. However, the camera is still not recognized. Something seems to be wrong.
My Olympus E-M5 III is recognized and supported. Is it really possible that the OM 1 II is not supported, or is there another reason why it is not recognized?
Does anyone have any idea what I could check?
I had an issue where Lensfun wouldn’t recognize a Sigma lens. It turned out that the lens name was different from the database. You could set up a preset to manually invoke your lens.
My solution was to “hack” into the database and create a new instance for my specific lens. It’s easier than it sounds.
Solved! It was an installation problem on my computer.
I compared my computer with my other computer and found that, for whatever reason, only this computer was missing liblensfun-bin. I have now installed it and performed an update with lensfun-update-data, and now it works as expected.
